boatposeYoga is a practice for the mind, body and soul that consists of poses (asanas), breath work (pranayama), and meditation. Yoga increases flexibility and strength as well as feelings of happiness and calmness. Yoga helps us regain our center, relax into the present moment and let go of fear, worry, and other negative emotions.

Class Descriptions

Thursdays, 6-7:15 p.m. Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa means “to place in a special way.” Vinyasa is characterized by a series of flows linking poses and breath. We will explore the mind, body, breath connection while building heat. Class will close with a few moments of stillness. This is a beginner-friendly class. Modifications will be offered.

Sundays, 4:15-5:30 p.m. Slow Flow
*Currently not offered. A beginner-friendly class where we will explore the mind, body, breath connection through foundational yoga poses. We will focus on alignment, move at a slower pace and experience longer holds. Class will close with restorative poses and a short meditation.

From Rte. 13 turn onto Rte. 179, Market St., toward the Town of Onancock. Follow Market St. into town and take a right onto North Street. 15 North Street is the Town Hall and will be on your left. You may park at the DMV or behind the Town Hall. Enter through the Police door, turn right and head up the stairs.

I am a Yoga Alliance certified instructor. I trained in both vinyasa and hot yoga in Williamsburg, Va. I love yoga because it teaches us who we really are and aligns the body, mind, and soul. Yoga provides us the space to simply show up and be. On the mat, we are able to let go and be present. I teach because I want to share the peace I have experienced practicing yoga.
